La Lumière is a lovely restored 19th century mas, situated in the fertile valley of the Auzonette in between the Ardèche, Cèze and Cévennes.
La Lumière offers plenty of space for creative relaxation and social gatherings.
La Lumière is an environmentally sustainable house. All energy requirements are generated by a photovoltaic system. All the paints and varnishes used in the renovation are good not only for the soul, but also for the body. We do not use pesticides. The fruits that grows here can be picked and eaten.
La Lumière is a house that tells a story. On 350 square meters of living space, up to 12 people will find enough room to meet and relax. Behind thick natural stone walls, the indoor climate is refreshingly pleasant in summer. In winter, several fireplaces provide a cosy warmth.
The natural stone house offers 6 bedrooms, 5 of which have their own bathroom and a separate apartment with ground level access and its own kitchen and bathroom. La Lumière combines traditional architecture with stone floors, large hallways, stone staircases and an open fireplace with a high level of living comfort
In summer, you can enjoy the POOL or the large covered terrace. In autumn and winter the SAUNA offers a wonderful way to end the day. La Lumière is within walking distance of the THERMAL SPRINGS of Les Fumades. Skin diseases, upper respiratory tract disorders and rheumatism have been treated here since ancient times. Julius Caesar is also said to have enjoyed regular visits to the springs.
La Lumière is located on the outskirts of the medieval village of Auzon. Time passes slowly here. The small river Auzonette runs through the lush village meadows and brings crystal clear water from the nearby Cévennes. Nearby it flows into the Céze, which together with the Ardèche flows into the Rhône. The limestone plateaus of the Ardèche form an uplifting contrast to the granite rocks of the Cévennes. In the middle of this overwhelmingly diverse nature there`s La Lumière.
Here in the Languedoc, tranquillity and culture come together. An excellent network of marked hiking trails leads through the Cévennes, the Garrique or into the gorges of the Ardèche and Chassesac. On the Ardéche, Cèze, Chassesac and the Gardon you can spend fascinating days travelling by CANOE. The CHAUVETTE cave and the Aven d'Orgnac offer a unique nature-culture experience. AVIGNON, the city of the popes with its impressive city walls, NÎMES the Roman city with its ancient buildings, ORANGE with the best preserved ancient theatre in Western Europe, the PONT du GARD , a world heritage site, and the traditional markets of Uzès and Barjac are less than an hour away by car. And if you like, you can swim on the long sandy beach at MONTPELLIER in the MEDITERRANEAN SEA.
We produce all of our electricity with a modern photovoltaic system on the roof. The sun also warms the water. We consistently use energy-saving light sources and electrical appliances. In the house the garbage is separated, for organic waste there is a compost. The plants on the property are happy with purely organic fertilizer, we avoid the use of chemical pesticides. The oils and glazes used are produced sustainably and are safe for everyone and everything .

Beautiful House with pool!
Beautiful house with pool!
Two weeks in the summer as a family with 2 teenage daughters and dog. Beautiful house with a pool to cool off and swim in. Not in the middle of nowhere, but on the outskirts of a small French village. Through the village flows a stream in which you can easily swim. The fact that there is a nougat factory within walking distance is another highlight. A short distance away is a stone road bridge from where our kids jumped into a river for hours and had a huge amount of fun. The house is very large for a family of four. The inviting terrace on the first floor allows you to enjoy the midday heat comfortably in the hammock. Otherwise, the lovingly designed interior is impressive - like something out of a French feature film!

Very nice spacious holiday home
Very nice spacious holiday home to spend wonderful holidays with friends. It is ideal for hiking, cycling, climbing or paddling in the region. It is a good base to visit famous sights such as the Pont du Gard or towns such as Nîmes or Uzèz.
